This role is intended to serve primarily as a resource within R D, though some crossover with QC may be required during peak production. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lab Manager, Production, Quality, and other technical teams to develop, evaluate, and test polymer-based materials primarily used in medical, dental, cosmetic, and advanced manufacturing applications. The position will also partner with site leadership and business development personnel in advancing Esstech's technical offerings. This position is expected to spend the majority of time in the laboratory performing formulation work, analytical testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for a chemist who enjoys a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is comfortable balancing development projects with routine product testing and quality support responsibilities. Responsibilities • Support development and improvement of oligomer, photoinitiator, pigment and monomer-based formulations. Conduct laboratory experiments, sample preparation, and evaluation testing for commercial and experimental materials. Assist with scale-up activities and transition of products from laboratory to manufacturing. Characterize materials using analytical techniques such as FTIR, HPLC, GPC, viscosity, titration, and related methods. Document experimental results and maintain accurate laboratory records. Support troubleshooting of formulation, process, or product performance issues Collaborate with Manufacturing, QC, Technical Service, and Sales teams on technical projects and customer support activities. • Perform routine and non-routine QC testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Assist the QC department with overflow testing, investigation work, and analytical troubleshooting. Support investigations related to nonconforming materials, production deviations, and customer complaints. Maintain laboratory instrumentation and assist with calibration, verification, and method maintenance activities. • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable laboratory practices. Prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory and manufacturing operations. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lab Manager or company leadership.

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
