Job Description
Are you passionate about working with children and helping them create memorable camp experiences? Do you thrive in an outdoor environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Join our team as a Ranger Counselor at Camp Ocoee for summer 2026 (full time/seasonal)! Camp is May 25, 2026-July 25, 2026.
MANDATORY
training for counselors is May 25th-29th. We are currently hiring for the entire summer of 1/2 summer only. Ranger Counselors directly supervise a cabin group, encourage campers to participate in activities, and guide campers throughout their stay at camp.Responsibilities:
Live in cabin with 10-12 campers Oversee daily activities and safety of campers Teach and lead specific and designated activities Share daily devotions with cabin group Take campers on overnight camping trips Lead by example in words and actions Assist with other duties as assignedQualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred Must be at least 17 years of age Proven experience working with children and a willingness to serve Possess high personal standards and Christian values Familiarity with camping and various outdoor activities Strong oral and written communication skills Leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills A good understanding of risk management and safety Must possess ability to lead at least 2 specific camp activities (see application for list) Positive, energetic, reliable, self-motivated, and patient attitudePhysical Demands:
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including hiking, running, crouching, and carrying children Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in both indoor/outdoor settings and varying temperatures Walking (up to 5 miles per day), stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)Training:
Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and O2 (provided by Y upon hire) Y Camp training required before camp sessions, including online safety courses New Employee Orientation required within one week of hireA BETTER US STARTS WITH U!
