Job Description

Overview We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established mining and resource organisation for an experienced Resource Geologist to support exploration, geological modelling, resource estimation, grade control, and technical analysis across mining and exploration operations. This position will play a key role in collecting, analysing, and interpreting geological data to support resource development and operational planning. The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams, contractors, and operations personnel to ensure accurate resource modelling, quality control, and continuous improvement across geological processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain geological resource and reserve models using historical and current drilling data Conduct resource modelling, estimation, and reconciliation activities for exploration and mining projects Perform geological interpretation, wireframing, ore domain generation, and fault modelling Support grade control activities and ensure resource data is accurately transferred into operational mining models Conduct statistical and geostatistical analysis of assay and drilling data Review and validate historical geological and drilling data to ensure quality and consistency Prepare reports, resource estimates, and technical documentation for management and operational teams Assist with preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project disclosures Coordinate drilling programs and support exploration and mine planning activities Collaborate with consultants, contractors, operations, and technical services teams Develop and maintain QA/QC procedures, sampling standards, and geological SOPs Train and mentor technical personnel on geological modelling processes and software systems Support feasibility studies, cost evaluations, and ore quality optimisation initiatives Promote high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational performance
Requirements:
Several years of experience in mining geology, resource estimation, or geological modelling Strong understanding of geological interpretation, grade control, and resource estimation practices Experience working with complex ore bodies and mining operations Proven ability to manage geological data, QA/QC processes, and technical reporting Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Experience supporting drilling, sampling, and mine planning activities
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with geological and mine planning software such as Surpac, Micromine, Leapfrog, or similar platforms Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access Experience with geological databases, assay analysis, and resource modelling systems Understanding of geostatistics, variography, and estimation techniques including Ordinary Kriging Knowledge of drilling, sampling, QA/QC, and laboratory analytical methods Familiarity with mine planning and grade control processes
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work in a site-based or hybrid environment with regular mine site visits Willingness to travel occasionally as required by operational needs Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards within mining operations Experience coordinating contractors and technical service providers is advantageous Professional Geologist certification or eligibility is preferred
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geoscience, or a related discipline
