We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) who is passionate about making a direct impact on patient outcomes. In this role, you will provide advanced respiratory therapy services, support patients through critical stages of recovery, and collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment. What You'll Do Deliver Advanced Respiratory Care Administer a wide range of oxygen therapy techniques while adjusting equipment based on patient age, condition, and clinical protocols. Assess, implement, document, and evaluate respiratory therapy needs for patients, including post-discharge care. Provide respiratory treatments using advanced therapeutic modalities tailored to individual patient needs. Operate and manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators with precision and attention to patient safety. Perform blood gas sampling and analysis while troubleshooting related equipment as needed. Assist physicians with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy procedures. Maintain competency in obtaining quality 12 Lead EKGs and conducting respiratory equipment checks. Ensure Excellence in Patient Care & Safety Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards. Follow proper patient identification procedures for all treatments and medication administration. Maintain strict infection control and safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Thrive in a Collaborative Clinical Environment Prioritize and organize responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Remain calm and decisive during high-pressure or emergency situations. Evaluate patient responses to treatment and continuously adjust care plans to improve respiratory function. Foster teamwork and open communication while contributing to a positive patient-focused culture. Educate patients and families about treatment plans with empathy, professionalism, and clarity. Support team development by participating in required training, in-services, and mentoring opportunities for new staff and students. Contribute to Quality Improvement Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Help uphold the highest standards of respiratory care and risk management throughout the department. Qualifications Education & Licensure Must be licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State or eligible for licensure. Must hold Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials through the NBRC or be eligible. Experience At least 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience preferred. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire. Why Elmira and the Finger Lakes Region?
