POSITION SUMMAR

The Expediter is responsible for ensuring that food orders are prepared accurately, plated correctly, and delivered to guests in a timely manner. This role acts as the key communication link between the kitchen and front-of-house team, helping maintain smooth service flow, food quality, and guest satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate food orders between kitchen staff and servers. Review tickets to ensure accuracy, timing, and proper order sequence. Check plates for correct presentation, portioning, temperature, and quality before they leave the kitchen. Communicate special requests, allergies, modifications, and priority orders to the kitchen team. Ensure completed dishes are sent to the correct tables promptly. Monitor ticket times and alert management or kitchen leadership of delays. Assist with garnishing, finishing touches, and plate organization as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient expo station. Support servers, food runners, and kitchen staff during peak service periods. Uphold food safety, sanitation, and restaurant standards at all times. Help resolve order issues quickly and professionally.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous restaurant, kitchen, food running, or expediting experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to food quality. Ability to read tickets and manage multiple orders at once. Team-oriented attitude and strong sense of urgency. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds as needed. Must be able to bend, reach, and move quickly during service.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak dining periods. Flexible scheduling may be required based on business needs.
