Restaurant Host/Hostess

Overview We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for providing exceptional guest services. In short, we need someone with the experience to run the book no matter how busy we are. Duties Greet guests warmly as they arrive and guide them to their tables. Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently. Maintain an organized waitlist during busy periods, ensuring timely seating for all guests. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth service flow. Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette, assisting with reservations and inquiries. Provide information about menu items and specials to guests. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area. Handle guest relations with care, addressing any concerns or requests promptly. Requirements Must have minimum of 1 year experience as a host/hostess. Knowledge of proper seating rotation. Must know Open Table and effectively "seat" the dining room. Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both guests and team members. Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Aloha POS, is a plus. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure. A positive attitude and willingness to help others are essential for success in this role.
