Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Restaurant Team Member to join our team who is looking for the opportunity to grow and the possibility to become a Shift Leader . As a Restaurant Team Member at Al Pastor Taqueria you will be fully trained and equipped to work any station and equipped. We'll provide the training you need to provide excellent customer service and feel comfortable working at any station - grill, cashier, prep, washing dishes, salsa, etc. You will be hands on in connecting with customers, fellow team members, cooks and keeping the restaurant clean and looking fantastic! In this role of Al Pastor Taqueria - Assistant Shift Leader, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional dining experiences by assisting in food preparation, cooking, washing dishes, cleaning grills, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment and other tasks assigned. You will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all food safety standards are met while providing outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Assist in food preparation and cooking according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and bussing tables. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling of food items. Support by preparing and serving food during events. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate service needs. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and cash handling. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including kitchen and dining spaces. Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Assist with bussing tables and ensuring that the restaurant is well-stocked and organized. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food handling practices. Assist in back of house food preparation and dish washing Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery. Make handmade tortillas Clean grill, hood, equipment, etc. Other tasks assigned. Skills & Qualifications Experience in food preparation and culinary skills is preferred. Familiarity with POS systems Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Sales skills with a focus on upselling menu items to enhance customer satisfaction. Proven customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications. Previous experience in the food industry, including quick service & fast food restaurants or cafés, is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
