Position Summary Modoc Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Retail Pharmacist in Alturas, CA. Under the direction of the Retail Pharmacy Manager, the Retail Pharmacist is responsible for all areas of retail pharmaceutical services for MMC including the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of drugs by appropriate staff. This role ensures pharmacy services remain compliant with all state and federal laws and regulations while supporting quality assurance procedures, controlled substance security, inventory management, customer service initiatives, and professional pharmacy operations. Essential Responsibilities Compound and dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceuticals for patient care Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed Direct pharmacy staff engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals Provide customer counseling regarding medication interactions, dosage, side effects, and storage when accepted Maintain procedures for quality assurance, controlled substance security, hazardous waste disposal, and loss prevention Enter and maintain pharmacy records including patient data, inventory, charges, and medication costs Instruct interns and pharmacy personnel while maintaining staffing ratios in compliance with state and federal law Maintain awareness of third-party Rx systems and resolve rejection problems promptly Report prescription errors immediately and follow company policy regarding medication incidents Build and maintain positive working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals Remain current on pharmacy laws, regulations, programs, and continuing education requirements Support customer service initiatives and maintain professionalism in all patient and customer interactions Assist in maintaining consistency of pharmacy policies, procedures, cleanliness, and safety standards Perform additional duties as assigned, including technician-related duties depending on staffing needs Minimum Qualifications Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of California Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.

D. from an ACPE-accredited college of Pharmacy Current BLS Certification Meets federal, state, and local requirements governing retail pharmaceutical services Maintains required annual continuing education hours relative to pharmacist practice Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization Preferred Qualifications Retail pharmacy experience preferred Experience with third-party prescription systems preferred Strong customer service and relationship-building skills preferred Benefits Sign-On Bonus for
