Road Foreman Sylvania, OH 43560 $38.31 - $39.48 an hour - Full-time $38.31 - $39.48 an hour - Full-time Job Overview This is a working supervisor position under the direction of the Road & Service Superintendent. The Road Foreman supervises, coordinates, and assigns work to Utility Workers and temporary employees. 5 years' experience in road maintenance operations or municipal road work; supervisory experience . Valid Class A CDL (ability to obtain endorsement w/in 6 months of hire). This position is non-unionized and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees. Duties Supervise, coordinate and assign work assignments of the Utility and temporary staff Assign and ensure safe operation of equipment within the Road Department Communicate with citizens, hired contractors, vendors and other governmental agencies Provide and coordinate maintenance & training operations Interprets, complies, and enforces the Collective Bargaining agreement and Township Policies Assist in the investigation of injuries and property damage Promotes and enforces a safe and healthy work environment Monitor and maintain supplies and equipment Serves as the Road & Service Superintendent when required Skills & Abilities Ability to foster and cultivate a professional work environment Asphalt road resurfacing/repairs and material Concrete materials, form setting and finish work Excavation and Storm Sewer drainage repairs Use of Laser planes, levels, measuring devices and basic math Snow and Ice control operations Traffic control for construction and maintenance; Traffic sign installation and repair Oral and written communication; tact and courtesy when interacting with the public, vendors, suppliers and staff Operate all software programs necessary to meet the needs of Sylvania Township and the Road & Service department Valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain w/in 6 months of hire Ability to work overtime or on-call as needed with prompt and regular attendance
