Job Description

Job description Summary The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for providing age specific care, education, and imaging procedures in conjunction with other members of the defined health care team. The Radiologic Technologist works within safety standards and regulatory requirements, participates in quality control and performance improvement activities, maintains own clinical competency and mandatory education requirements.
Education and Formal Training:
Completion of an accredited and AMA approved educational program in radiologic technology. Maintain a certificate and/or diploma from the radiologic technology program, and be certified/registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience is preferred. Current BCLS certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must have thorough knowledge of all necessary patient assessment techniques, treatment techniques and the operation and maintenance of all unit specific equipment, computer terminals, printers, and facsimile machines. Knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures including fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies. Excellent communication and administrative skills are necessary.
