Our work is highly concentrated in the Boston/Cambridge area and includes projects in: Life Sciences Hospitals and Healthcare Multi-Residential and High-Rise Buildings Hotels and Hospitality Educational and Institutional Facilities Sporting and Event Venues Our corporate headquarters is located in Norwell, MA, just off Route 3 on the South Shore. About the Role American Plumbing & Heating is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support our field operations and prefabrication teams. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing our company-wide safety culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. The Safety Officer will work closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, and company leadership to support multiple active construction projects. This role requires a proactive, hands-on safety professional who is comfortable working in fast-paced construction environments and regulated project sectors such as pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare facilities. Primary Responsibilities The Safety Officer will: Maintain and manage existing company safety programs, policies, and procedures, develop and implement new or enhanced safety programs Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations Conduct routine jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments Prepare written reports identifying safety findings and corrective action recommendations Monitor and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented Conduct incident and accident investigations and prepare detailed reports for management review Develop and deliver employee safety training, orientation, and ongoing education programs Maintain safety documentation, compliance records, and training logs Partner with Project Managers and field leadership to promote safe work practices Assist with continuous improvement of company safety standards and programs Participate in jobsite safety meetings and coordination meetings Qualifications We are seeking candidates with strong field safety experience and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously. Required Qualifications 3-5+ years of safety experience in construction, mechanical contracting, plumbing, or related trades Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations Strong organizational and documentation skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Ability to work independently and collaboratively with field and management teams Reliable transportation required (local jobsite travel is part of the role) Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or related field OSHA 30 Experience working in regulated environments such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, or Pharmaceutical construction Work Environment & Expectations Full-time, 100% on-site position Based out of Norwell, MA with regular travel to local jobsites Fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environment Requires strong communication, accountability, and leadership presence in the field No remote or hybrid work available Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays Long-term career growth opportunity Opportunity to help shape and strengthen company safety culture How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume to: careers@amerplumb.com Please include "Safety Officer" in the subject line.
