Full Time The following is a list of specific duties, which are considered essential functions of the Sales Arborist position. The list is not exhaustive as all positions at Kramer Tree Specialists are dynamic. This is consistent with our need to be flexible and responsive to the needs of our customers. The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.

MAJOR OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the Sales Arborist is to work under the direction of the Sales Manager to generate sales opportunities and meet sales goals. Primary duties include surveying commercial, municipal and residential properties, handling client proposal requests, attending industry and business development related events, and perform site inspections to identify and determine necessary arboricultural recommendations, in accordance with ANSI A300 and Z133 standards. Arborists must be able to consult the production crews regarding recommendations proposed. Responsible for developing and maintaining long-term client relationships and generating new business development leads through creative sales techniques. Must be experienced with tree care safety hazards, tree ID and pest/disease evaluation, integrated pest management, and tree and shrub diagnostics for pest and disease disorders. Must be able to estimate time and cost for crews to carry out pruning, removal, cabling, tree planting or any other proposed tree care needs or services provided by Kramer Tree Specialists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, attendance at industry and business development related events Effectively estimate costs and create proposals for all types of arboricultural services offered Strong communication skills for both internal staff and external clients - ensuring exceptional client satisfaction Knowledge and ability to understand other competitor pricing within local demographic Willingness to conduct client presentations for business development Willingness and ability to attend networking and business development events outside of normal business hours Strong outgoing personality to effectively communicate with clients in a professional social setting Perform site inspections for proposal preparation, demonstrated ability to adhere to KTS safe work practice policies Provide required information necessary for the development of proposals.

Such information would include:

Development of site maps Identification of plant material on site and the development of site plant inventory Identification of current and potential pests/diseases Proven ability to provide effective recommendation treatments or services Ability to provide effective site risk assessment, addressing on site hazards andconditions, tree conditions, etc. Ability to function effectively in a fast paced work environment Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance Participate in Sales Department meetings and actively comply with the Sales Department Standard Operating Procedures Comply with all Kramer Tree Specialists, Inc. policies and guidelines such as appropriate attire, event attendance, etc. Actively participate in the implementation and compliance of safety related programs and work practices Working longer hours during peak selling periods with the high potential for weekend work as necessary

REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

: Ability to drive a sales vehicle throughout the day, walk large properties, conduct office work with use of laptop and participate in related business development events, which all involves varying intervals of sitting, standing or walking. Experience in a sales-oriented work environment and working knowledge of ANSI A300 and Z133 standards Ability to identify problems and work in conjunction with others to implement effective solutions Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills with both clients and co-workers Advanced knowledge of tree identification, plant health care diagnostics, treatment recommendations and all KTS services offered Ability to assess all types of risk on a job site, including utilities, tree conditions, site conditions, etc. Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, database entry for proposal creation, etc.) Proven sales track record and ability to attain required sales goals Ability to effectively price and develop proposals with effective tree care recommendations and other services offered Excellent organizational skills - ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks

PREREQUISITES

ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) 2 - 5 years or more of arboriculture experience High School Diploma Associate or Bachelor's degree in an environmental field (preferred) Valid Illinois Driver's License and safe driving record Kramer Tree Specialists, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
