Job Description
As a Customer Service-Oriented Automotive Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers seeking tire needs and automotive maintenance/ repair services. You will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer experiences by providing knowledgeable guidance, accurate assessments, and outstanding service throughout the entire service process.
Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
Greet customers and listen attentively to their concerns and service needs. Building relationships by developing trust is key to the long term success of this position.Service Recommendations:
Utilize your expertise and knowledge of automotive systems to recommend appropriate services and repairs. Provide transparent explanations of recommended services, including cost estimates and timelines.Appointment Scheduling:
Efficiently schedule appointments for service, ensuring optimal utilization of service bays and technicians' time. Coordinate with the service team to prioritize and expedite urgent repairs.Communication:
Maintain open lines of communication with customers throughout the service process. Keep customers informed of any changes, delays, or additional services required. Provide regular updates on the status of their vehicles.Problem Resolution:
Address any customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. Take ownership of issues and work diligently to find satisfactory resolutions, escalating complex problems to management when necessary.Documentation:
Accurately document service details, customer interactions, and vehicle history in our management system. Ensure all paperwork and documentation are completed thoroughly and in compliance with company policies and procedures.Customer Education:
Educate customers on preventive maintenance practices and vehicle care tips to help them prolong the lifespan of their vehicles and minimize future repair costs. Providing early awareness of upcoming vehicle needs will help customers to budget and avoid surprises when future services are necessary.Performing Service:
Being versatile enough to facilitate tasks in the shop is also important in this position. It may involve loading or unloading a customer's tires, pulling vehicles in for the technicians, or any other task that helps fulfill a fast and friendly customer experience.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in automotive technology is a plus. Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within the automotive industry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset. Proficiency in computer systems and software applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication. Knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and repair procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed to accommodate customer appointments.
