SALES SUPERVISOR
(MT) Basic Function Responsible for providing superior customer service, conducting merchandise sale transactions, and contributing to a positive store environment. Provide support to the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in the overall supervision and management of the store. Develop knowledge and skills required to effectively supervise the store. Under the direction of the Store Manager, provide direction to Sales Associates. Primary Duties and Responsibilities All Sales Supervisors must be able to perform these responsibilities with or without modifications to the application process, to the job, to areas in the store, or to equipment in the store to be considered for this position. 1. Sales
  • Meet personal sales goals, store accessory goals, and total store sales to goal. Should contribute significantly to meeting the overall store sales to goal results. 2. Quality Customer Service
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality customer service in the store. Be friendly and helpful and ensure associates greet, approach, and re-approach the customer, and ultimately close the sale. Minimize external shrink through excellent customer service. Ensures that all customer areas are kept clean and that merchandise is attractively presented per VMU to the customer. 3. People
  • Assist in the development of a sales focused store staff. Monitor associate success and coach associates to help them achieve company expectations. Contribute to a good team environment in the store; recognize associate successes and help boost store morale; keep associates focused on achieving store and personal goals. 4. Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide direction to associates to ensure floor coverage, quality customer service, completion of daily tasks and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Work with sales associates to achieve budget and special sales goals. In absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, communicate daily sales goals, store issues, etc., via Take 5. Provide direction to ensure compliance with all operational controls and the standard security policy. 5. Store Operations
  • Complete start of day procedures when opening and end of day procedures when closing.
Perform procedures as required on the WIN system. Identify security issues or concerns and communicate them to the Store Manager. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities These functions are not essential to performing the basic functions of this position for ADA purposes. All associates are not required to be able to perform these responsibilities to be considered or hired for this position. However, these responsibilities must be performed by some associates in the store.
ASSOCIATES WHO ARE ABLE TO PEROFRM THESE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE REQUIRED TO DO SO. 1.
Store Presentation
  • Effectively assists in VMU implementation. Recommend store presentation in reaction to inventory position and sales trends. 2. Cashiering
  • Ring customer transactions, perform register functions, and follow company cash handling policies. Process customer returns and exchanges. 3. Store Maintenance
  • Vacuum, dust, sweep, clean, etc.
Qualifications 1. High School Diploma (or equivalent) 2. One+ year retail sales experience 3. Interpersonal & verbal communication skills enabling effective sales & customer relations 4. Ability to coordinate activities of others 5. Successful previous supervisory experience in a retail sales setting preferred 6. Post-secondary business management education preferred 7. Ability to lift up to 25lbs and stand during scheduled shifts of 8 to 12 hours
