Commercial Sales Executive - Security Johnson Controls helps customers create safer, smarter, and more sustainable environments through mission-critical building systems, security solutions, and lifecycle services. Role Overview The Commercial Sales Executive is responsible for promoting and selling Johnson Controls Security services and technology within an assigned territory. In this role, you will build relationships, win new business, expand existing accounts, and support customer retention by delivering a strong customer experience from first contact through post-installation follow-up. You will act as a brand steward and clearly position Johnson Controls Security as a top-tier electronic security provider. This position will support the western Massachusetts Territory. Key Responsibilities Promote and sell Johnson Controls Security products, services, and technology to new and existing commercial customers within your assigned territory. Build new market share by identifying prospects and developing opportunities through creative lead-generation techniques, referrals, and Centers of Influence. Expand existing accounts by selling additional products and services, as well as add-ons, amendments, and conversions that meet customer expectations. Secure profitable sales and upgrades for new, existing, and discontinued commercial customers. Renew existing customer agreements and pursue resale opportunities within the territory. Maintain productive customer relationships and support customer retention through timely communication and follow-up. Process work orders and complete paperwork in accordance with approved and standardized procedures. Conduct post-installation follow-up to confirm commitments were met and customer satisfaction was achieved. How You Will Do It Own the territory with accountability by managing opportunities carefully, following through on commitments, and representing Johnson Controls Security with integrity and professionalism. Stay close to the customer by understanding account needs, removing obstacles quickly, and focusing on solutions that help customers operate with confidence. Improve every day by using call plans, follow-up discipline, and territory management techniques to learn from results and strengthen your approach. Win as one team by partnering with internal colleagues, Centers of Influence, and customers to move opportunities forward with trust and shared purpose. Maintain a strong working knowledge of the full product and service line through training, reading, and research so you can speak clearly to customer needs and business outcomes. Use organized prospecting and follow-up strategies to keep your pipeline active and your time focused on the highest-value opportunities. Complete work orders and administrative requirements accurately so customer commitments are documented and service delivery stays consistent. Qualifications High school degree or equivalent. Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. Ability to present effectively to senior-level executives within customer and Johnson Controls Security organizations. Ability to work a full-time schedule. Availability for local travel. Nice to Have College degree. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a successful commercial sales representative in the security, IT, or other technology sales industry, demonstrated by a consistent ability to meet and exceed quota.
