Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking an Account Executive to drive commercial HVAC sales and business development. The role focuses on building and managing relationships with commercial property owners, facility managers, and contractors to sell HVAC systems, service agreements, preventative maintenance, replacements, and refurbishments. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and energy reduction strategies with proven sales, lead generation, and CRM management skills, including familiarity with Local Law 97 compliance requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesProspect, qualify, and develop new commercial HVAC leads through targeted outreach, networking, and lead generation campaigns.

Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract close, including proposals, negotiations, and pricing for HVAC equipment, service agreements, preventative maintenance, and refurbishment projects.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to identify upsell, replacement, and retrofit opportunities that improve energy efficiency and support Local Law 97 compliance.

Collaborate with technical teams and project managers to scope solutions, create accurate proposals, and ensure successful project handoffs and execution.

Create and present clear, compelling proposals and ROI analyses that articulate energy reduction benefits, lifecycle cost savings, and compliance outcomes.

Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipelines, and client interactions in CRM; produce regular forecasts and activity reports for leadership.

Negotiate contract terms and manage renewals for service agreements and preventative maintenance programs to maximize retention and recurring revenue.

Participate in industry events, trade shows and local meetings to build brand awareness and expand the companys commercial client base.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes (including Local Law 97) to advise clients on the best HVAC solutions and to inform product/service offerings.

Coordinate with finance and operations teams to ensure timely invoicing, project scheduling, and customer satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Business, Engineering, HVAC Technology, or equivalent experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.5+ years of B2B sales experience in the commercial HVAC, building systems, or energy services sector with a proven track record of closing complex deals.

Demonstrated experience selling HVAC equipment, service agreements, preventative maintenance programs, replacements, and refurbishments.

Strong understanding of energy reduction strategies, building efficiency measures, and relevant regulations including Local Law 97 or equivalent sustainability/compliance frameworks.

Proven ability in lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline development; comfortable with cold outreach and account-based selling.

Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage pipelines, track activities, and generate sales forecasts.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for decision-makers.

Comfort working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams to scope solutions and ensure delivery.

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally to client sites and industry events as required.
