Job Description
Overview The Account Executive will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with dispensary partners, generating new business, growing sales within existing accounts, and ensuring Cannect's products and brands are well represented at retail. This full-time role will also collaborate closely with the marketing team on promotions, product launches, retail activations, and other initiatives designed to increase brand awareness and drive sell-through. Cannect Wellness' growing portfolio includes Cannect Wellness, ROAM, and additional brands and products currently in development. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage relationships with dispensary buyers, managers, and other key retail decision-makers throughout Illinois. Prospect for and secure new wholesale accounts while expanding sales within existing accounts. Present Cannect products, brands, promotions, and new product launches to retail partners. Maintain regular communication with accounts to identify opportunities, address needs, and strengthen relationships. Develop a strong understanding of each account's purchasing patterns, product assortment, and sales opportunities. Work toward established sales, revenue, distribution, and account-growth targets. Coordinate product orders and collaborate with internal teams to support accurate and timely order fulfillment. Conduct regular dispensary visits and maintain an active presence throughout assigned markets. Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotions, product launches, vendor days, staff education, and retail activations. Provide market feedback on customer needs, competitive activity, retail trends, and opportunities to strengthen Cannect's brands. Educate dispensary staff on Cannect products, brands, and key product differentiators. Monitor competitive products, pricing, promotions, and broader Illinois cannabis market trends. Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, opportunities, and follow-up items within the company's sales tracking systems. Collaborate with the Director of Revenue, marketing, operations, and other departments to execute the company's overall sales and brand strategy. Represent Cannect Wellness and its brands professionally at industry events and other market-facing activities. Qualifications Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working toward measurable sales goals. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously. Comfortable prospecting, making introductions, and developing new business relationships. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across sales, marketing, and operations. Experience in sales, account management, business development, cannabis, consumer packaged goods, or a related field preferred. Familiarity with the Illinois cannabis market is a plus. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel to dispensary accounts and industry events.
