Annual salary is $100-110k/year. The Contract Manufacturing Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for developing strategic customer relationships within the Contract Manufacturing (CM) market throughout the Western United States to create and secure new business opportunities. The primary mission is to engage customers during the Need Phase, identify programs before sourcing, coordinate resources, convert opportunities, and hand business to the appropriate owner after commercialization. The role is responsible for pursuing programs initiated within the region regardless of where production ultimately occurs.
Responsibilties:
- Develop the Contract Manufacturing market within the assigned territory by creating strategic relationships with target customers and identifying new business opportunities.
- Establish strategic customer access and engage during the Need Phase to identify programs before formal sourcing activities begin.
- Lead commercial pursuits by coordinating internal resources to develop customer-focused solutions and drive opportunity execution.
- Identify, qualify, develop, and convert profitable new business opportunities that support regional growth objectives.
- Transition awarded programs to the appropriate long-term account owner while maintaining continuity throughout commercialization.
- Provide meaningful market intelligence regarding customer strategies, manufacturing trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation, opportunity pipeline management, and commercial discipline in accordance with company expectations. Apply now! Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of commercial sales or business development experience.
- Proven ability to identify, negotiate, and close profitable opportunities.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Travel as business needs require.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, territory-based sales role while effectively collaborating across multiple business functions. Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience developing business within Contract Manufacturing organizations or comparable complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or manufacturing transfers.
- Experience selling custom engineered packaging, industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, or value added solutions.
- Experience working within matrix organizations.
- Experience with Contract Manufacturers such as Jabil, Flex, Sanmina, Foxconn, Benchmark, or Celestica.
Skills:
- Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and develop tailored, custom engineered solutions.
- Skilled in commercial negotiation and conflict resolution.
- CRM proficiency; Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of Contract Manufacturing customers, complex manufacturing environments, and the supporting customer ecosystem.
- Ability to identify, qualify, and develop strategic business opportunities.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to support complex customer pursuits.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer manufacturing, supply chain, and operational strategies.
