Full-Time, Exempt Job Summary The Irrigation Water Account Manager is responsible for managing irrigation water use, system performance, and efficiency strategies across assigned commercial landscape accounts. The role analyzes water consumption data, develops and implements irrigation programs, and provides recommendations to client stakeholders to improve water efficiency, regulatory compliance, and landscape health. This position exercises independent judgment and discretion in evaluating irrigation systems, setting water management strategies, and advising clients. The role also oversees Irrigation Technicians to ensure work is aligned with established plans and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze irrigation water usage data and develop account-level water management strategies, including conservation and efficiency plans. Design and adjust irrigation schedules based on evapotranspiration (ET), soil conditions, plant requirements, and weather patterns. Evaluate irrigation systems and determine necessary improvements, repairs, or upgrades to optimize performance and water use. Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and performance reports to client representatives, including senior-level stakeholders. Add Attend board meetings to present and explain complex irrigation proposals Exercise independent judgment in diagnosing system issues and determining appropriate corrective actions. Oversee execution of irrigation programs by Irrigation Technicians, including setting priorities, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring adherence to specifications. Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to Irrigation Technicians; participate in hiring and disciplinary input as needed. Review and approve repair recommendations, material usage, and work plans for assigned accounts. Ensure irrigation systems are operating within design specifications, including pressure, distribution uniformity, and precipitation rates. Maintain oversight of irrigation-related inventory and recommend purchasing needs. Coordinate work scheduling and routing to meet client requirements and service standards. Maintain accurate documentation of audits, system performance, water usage, and client communications. Serve as the primary point of contact for irrigation-related matters with assigned clients, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution. Assist Account Managers with larger irrigation design and specifications on proposals Ensure compliance with applicable water regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge of commercial irrigation systems, including design, components, and field applications. Strong understanding of water management principles, including ET-based scheduling, soil-water relationships, and conservation practices. Ability to analyze technical data and make independent decisions affecting system performance and water use. Proficiency with smart irrigation controllers and water management platforms (e.g., Baseline 3200, BaseManager, or equivalent). Experience with rebate programs, including Non-Functional Turf and Smart Irrigation Rebate Programs Knowledge of basic hydraulics, including system pressure and flow dynamics. Ability to interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and specifications. Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership and team oversight skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of experience in commercial irrigation, including water management and system diagnostics. Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred. Experience with ET-based irrigation systems and water management software required. Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) or similar certification preferred or required within a specified timeframe. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Physical / Work
Environment Combination of office-based work and field work at commercial landscape sites. Field work involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions and uneven terrain. Requires regular walking, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds). Travel between job sites is required. Compensation & Benefits Annual salary of $90,000 to $110,000 based on experience, paid weekly. Bonus Eligibility Eligible for company benefits in accordance with employee policies.
