Job Description

Account Manager Mabbly - 4.3 Jacksonville, FL Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $90,000 a year 14 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Writing skills Content writing Video conferences (communication methods) Proofreading Full Job Description The Role Mabbly is a Chicago go-to-market agency building its Florida presence, and we are hiring an Account Manager here. You would work directly with our founder, who lives here too, alongside our Strategy, Brand, Digital and Product Studios in Chicago. Let's be clear about what this is. We are looking for someone with roughly 2 to 3 years of agency or client-facing experience who is sharp, malleable and hungry to grow. You would not be the last line of defense on an account. You would have a Head of Accounts above you whose actual job is to make you better at this. Account Director is the destination, not the starting line. If you have been waiting for a role where someone invests in your trajectory instead of handing you a static job description, this is it. A word about who we are right now. Mabbly has been an agency for over a decade, but in the past year we rebuilt ourselves to operate like a startup. We run our entire business on Claude, Claude Cowork and Notion. We build our own internal AI agents. We automate anything that should not require a human. You will learn account management the way it is going to be practiced for the next decade, not the way it was practiced for the last one.
Honest note before you apply:
this is an intense role inside a company in the middle of its biggest transformation ever. Priorities shift, the pace is real, and the people who thrive here find that energizing rather than exhausting. Most of our delivery team sits in Chicago, so you will be working with them over video and in shared tools every day rather than across a desk. That suits some people and not others. If you want a quiet seat and a settled playbook, this is not your job. If you want to help write the playbook and grow faster than any big agency would let you, keep reading. What You Will Do Client partnership and communication Own daily client relationships. Build credibility by understanding each client's business, not just their deliverables. Run client meetings, calls and status updates with polish, and grow into leading presentations to senior stakeholders. Anticipate client questions before they arrive and bring solutions, looping in experts across our studios when needed. Prepare clean agendas, recaps, proposals and follow-ups that keep projects moving. Chase what is stuck. A real part of this job is the polite, persistent follow-up that stops a project sitting for three weeks waiting on one approval. We will teach you the cadence. You have to be willing to run it. Execution and project ownership Manage planning and execution across campaigns, web builds, brand work and content. Keep client and internal teams aligned through every stage of the project lifecycle. Brief the studios well. They are in Chicago and you are here, so a vague request costs a day rather than a walk down the hall. Writing a brief someone can act on without a follow-up call is a skill, and it is one you will use constantly. Learn your clients' processes, including the ones that constrain us: approval chains, regulatory review, IT release windows. Knowing that a code change has to be submitted Wednesday to ship Friday is the difference between hitting a date and missing it. Work in the weeds. Everyone here does, including the founder. Quality control Be the set of eyes before a client sees anything. Copy, links, formatting, brand consistency, and whether the work actually answers the brief. Build and maintain the checklist for your accounts, so quality does not depend on one person remembering. Send work back when it is not ready. This is harder than it sounds, and it is a large part of why clients renew. Scope, budget and systems Translate signed work orders into real plans: deliverables and dates in Asana, hours in Harvest. Track contracted hours against hours used, and flag movement in both directions. Under-delivery loses renewals. Over-delivery loses margin. Keep a clear record of what was scoped, what was delivered and what remains, so anyone can answer the question without archaeology. AI-powered account operations Use Claude, Claude Cowork and Notion daily for meeting prep, recaps, reporting, research and client communication. We will train you. Curiosity is the prerequisite, not prior mastery. Help improve our internal AI agents and workflows. Spot something repetitive? We automate it, and you will be part of that. Growth Learn to spot upsell opportunities inside your accounts and bring them forward. Take on increasing portfolio ownership as you prove it, on a defined path toward Account Director. Communicate account performance and wins to leadership regularly. What Success Looks Like We will not tell you to be "measurably more capable every quarter" and leave you to guess what that means. Here is what we actually watch, weekly. Contracted deliverables due this week go out this week. Contracted hours land between 90 and 105 percent of what the client is entitled to. Both ends of that band are failures, for different reasons. Fewer than 20 percent of your client tasks are overdue at any given moment. Every account you touch has a conversation with someone senior on the client side at least every 30 days. Nothing reaches a client that you have not checked. Clients renew, and they use your name when they explain why. These numbers are on a scorecard the whole delivery team reads every week. You will always know where you stand, which is more than most agencies can say. Within 18 to 24 months the goal is that you are operating at Account Director level, because we built you there on purpose. What We Need In You Experience. 2 to 3 years in client management, account coordination or project management, ideally in an agency or marketing environment. Digital marketing familiarity strongly preferred. Communication. Excellent written and verbal skills, with the instinct to translate technical ideas for non-technical audiences. Written matters more here than in most agency roles, because most of your team is a time zone away rather than a desk away. Attention to detail. You are the person who catches the thing everyone else read past. If you have ever found the typo on the live site, tell us about it. Coachability. You seek feedback, absorb it fast and apply it. This matters more to us than your resume. Self-direction. You can hold your own day without someone standing over it. You also know when to raise a hand rather than quietly grind on something for three days. Organization. Comfortable holding several accounts and many moving pieces without dropping any of them. AI curiosity. You are already experimenting with tools like Claude or ChatGPT in your work, or you are genuinely excited to. Bonus if you can show us something you have automated or built. Mentality. A wear-many-hats attitude. Nobody here says "that's not my job." Why This Role Is Different Big agencies will give you a lane and keep you in it for five years. Here is the trade we are offering instead. A founding seat. You are early to Mabbly in Florida. What this office becomes is partly a function of how you do this job. Direct access to the founder, who works out of here. Not a quarterly all-hands. The actual person, in the actual room, on the actual work. Real accounts early, with a Head of Accounts above you whose job is to develop you rather than to keep the work away from you. An AI toolkit most agencies have not touched , and a real say in how it gets built. The path from Manager to Director runs on performance, not tenure. The trade is intensity. We think it is worth it. If you do too, we should talk.
