In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team responsible for managing complex financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering accurate financial reporting. Your expertise will drive financial clarity, support strategic decision-making, and uphold the highest standards of accounting excellence across diverse sectors including non-profit, governmental, and corporate environments. Duties Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Oversee general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable management, and bank reconciliations to maintain precise financial records. Manage compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements, securities law regulations, and other relevant standards to safeguard organizational integrity. Coordinate regulatory reporting obligations including SEC filings, governmental reports, and other statutory disclosures. Conduct financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning. Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies while handling confidential information responsibly. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and other financial systems to optimize operational efficiency. Support audit processes by preparing documentation for internal and external audits; facilitate audit inquiries related to accounting practices.
