Job Description

Job Summary The Business Assistant will provide support and perform business assistant duties for the College of Science at the Purdue West Lafayette campus. This position will work collaboratively with departmental faculty, staff, students, and other business units or areas to perform various business functions that support the mission of the University. This is a part-time .50FTE, benefits-eligible role. Working hours will be 20/week. This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel to campus for meetings and training.
Responsibilities Include:
Serve as the primary source for internal and external recharge center billings for various recharges within the College of Science. Function as a SME for recharge billings and serve as a liaison for both the department and central offices regarding recharge center billings and vendor management. Provide external billing support, vendor payment tracking, and account management for The Data Mine. Assist departments as requested with collection of wire payments and processing voluntary support documentation.

Required:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED. Three years of experience in relevant business, finance, or related experience.
Skills Needed:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills and professionalism. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce. Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multitask, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines. Ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information and implement solutions. Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion. Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. What is
Helpful:
Two years of University business office experience. SAP, iLab, and billing experience. University-related experience.
Additional Information:
This is a primarily remote position with occasional travel to campus for meetings and training. This is a part-time .50FTE, benefits-eligible role. Working hours will be 20/week. Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position. A background check will be required for employment in this position.
FLSA:
Non-Exempt (Eligible For Overtime).
Retirement Eligibility:
