Job Description Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service Execute shipment requests for customers Source capacity with approved service providers Communicate effectively and timely with customers, vendors, and internal Expeditors network through high volume of email, phone, instant message, and in person Monitor and action email boxes daily (personal and shared boxes) Ensure that all correspondence internal and external is uploaded into the document imaging system and labeled correctly Responsible for notifications of shipment status to customers Delay updates Ensure accurate and timely EDI communication to customers and service providers Maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers Operations Responsible for the management of accurate and timely data entry into the operating system Internal 3rd Party Track and Trace shipments as required via externally and internally sources Event Code Management Assist with booking amendments with carriers if requested by the customer Responsible for freight routing deviations and communication once the cargo is in transit Ensure accurate and timely POD's are received and imaged into the document imaging system Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency Meet key performance indicators in support of department, branch, product and company goals Qualifications 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Understanding of ocean documentation process a plus Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results Pro-active, strong organizational skills Good computer skills (Excel, Word) Hazardous Materials certification (preferred) Fluent in English Additional Information Expeditors offers excellent benefits:
