DESCRIPTION
The Associate Customer Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and managing customer relationships remotely within an assigned territory, primarily supporting retailers for a single client . This position reports to the Virtual Sales Customer Manager and serves as the primary virtual sales contact for the retailers. Through phone, video conferencing, email, and other digital communication methods, the Associate Customer Manager builds strong customer relationships, executes sales strategies, and achieves short and long-term performance objectives. This role focuses on sales development, promotional execution, new item placement, distribution perform similar selling responsibilities as others in the job family while supporting small and midsized retailers purchasing through AWG andUNFI. RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and grow assigned AWG accounts through outbound sales calls, video meetings, and email communication. Sell promotional programs, display opportunities, and distribution initiatives to independent retailers supplied by AWG and UNFI. Drive incremental sales through temporary price reductions (TPRs), display programs, and distributor-sponsored promotions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailer buyers, store managers, and decision-makers through consistent virtual communication. Secure new item authorizations, distribution gains, and expanded product placement opportunities. Identify distribution voids, sales gaps, and growth opportunities through sales analysis and customer conversations. Review distributor reports and sales data to prioritize opportunities and develop account-specific growth strategies. Communicate customer feedback, competitive activity, and market trends to management and client partners. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and business results using company-provided technology and systems. Collaborate with retailer contacts, internal teams, and client partners to execute sales objectives and support business growth. Establish performance goals and review progress regularly with the Virtual Customer Manager .QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Sales, account management, customer service, or telesales experience required. Experience working with AWG, natural products, distributor sales, or retail account management preferred. Strong phone-based selling, relationship-building, and virtual communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Ability to analyze sales data and identify opportunities for business growth. Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
