Position Summary The Member Account Specialist is a front-line, member-facing role responsible for onboarding new members, opening new accounts and helping serve existing members with account setups and questions. Daily work will involve meeting with members in person, as well as answering phone calls and email/online inquiries. Ideal team members will provide the best possible experience by creating connections and creatively filling the needs of each member based on their needs. There will be a high volume of daily interactions. The ability to follow up and follow through will be essential in role mastery. This role requires the ability and desire to listen, connect, and be of service to others. Account specialists will become experts in our products/services and our unique problem-solving framework. They will have the ability to "read a member profile" in our system and use their conversation with the member and the account data to identify unmet needs and opportunities for deeper relationship with the cooperative. This is a fully in-person, on-site position. Key Responsibilities Open an average of 8 -10 new accounts per day Onboard new members, explaining the credit union ownership difference Identify member needs and refer products or services that match those needs Assist members with basic account questions, troubleshooting, and issue resolution Take an average of 10-15 calls per day, return voicemails, and respond to member inquiries in a timely manner Support digital and electronic transactions, including online banking inquiries Deliver high-quality, friendly, and professional service while representing the Good Neighbor Experience Manage a high volume of member interactions, often assisting 40-50 members per day Perform accurate and efficient teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing Maintain a balanced cash drawer and follow all cash-handling and audit procedures Follow all credit union policies, procedures, and compliance standards Support daily branch operations and assist team members as needed Maintain confidentiality of all member information Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment Culture & Community Member Account Specialists are team players who take pride in wearing the Good Neighbors Credit Union logo and representing our cooperative every day. Qualifications Ability to synthesize information and identify opportunities Strong listening Creative problem-solving skills Confident engaging with members in person and over the phone Strong attention to detail and follow through High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred 3+ years of customer service experience, a mix of phone and in-person preferred 1+ years of hands-on cash handling experience Ability to travel between both branch locations
