JOB SUMMARY
The Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities within the assigned territory. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, expanding market share, and building long-term partnerships that contribute to the company's continued success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts by building and maintaining strong customer relationships. Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and needs assessments to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for growth. Actively prospect, research, and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory. Identify emerging markets, customer segments, and competitive opportunities to drive revenue growth. Organize and facilitate local customer training events in partnership with product specialists and vendor representatives. Serve as a trusted resource and subject matter expert on products, industry trends, and market developments. Collaborate with branch teams, fellow Account Managers, and cross-functional departments to align customer strategies, inventory planning, pricing initiatives, and product placement opportunities. Research and analyze competitive market activity, including pricing, product offerings, and vendor trends, and provide actionable insights. Attend regional industry events, vendor showcases, trade shows, and national sales meetings to stay informed of industry developments, new products, and emerging technologies. Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and pipeline management within company CRM systems. Achieve or exceed established sales and profitability objectives.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2-3 years of outside sales or field sales experience; flooring industry experience preferred. Proven track record of developing customer relationships, generating new business, and achieving sales goals. Excellent communication, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and maintain a healthy sales pipeline. Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams. Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other sales-related technologies. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory. Location St.
