This position serves as the primary day-to-day contact for employer groups, providing exceptional client service, managing carrier relationships, coordinating renewals and enrollments, and resolving employee and administrative issues. The Account Manager works closely with producers and agency leadership to retain and grow client relationships. Key Responsibilities Client Management & Service Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned employer groups. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. Respond promptly and professionally to client questions and requests. Assist employers with plan design, benefit questions, and administrative issues. Conduct regular client service meetings and follow up on outstanding issues. Renewals & Plan Management Prepare renewal comparisons and recommendations for clients. Assist producer with renewal presentations and client meetings. Track deadlines and ensure renewals are completed accurately and on time. Enrollment & Employee Support Coordinate new group implementations and open enrollment periods. Assist clients with employee enrollment, qualifying life events, terminations, and plan changes. Communicate benefit information to employees and HR representatives. Troubleshoot enrollment and eligibility discrepancies with carriers. Assist with employee questions regarding ID cards, claims, prescriptions, deductibles, copays, and benefits. Escalate complex claims or service issues to carriers when necessary. Carrier & Vendor Relationships Work directly with insurance carriers, TPAs, PBMs, and other vendors. Follow up with carriers to resolve outstanding issues. Maintain knowledge of carrier products, underwriting requirements, networks, and administrative procedures. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate client and policy records. Assist with ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other applicable compliance requirements. Ensure required forms and documentation are completed and distributed appropriately. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and client information. Agency Support Work closely with producer to support client retention and growth. Identify opportunities for additional products and services. Prepare proposals, spreadsheets, benefit summaries, and client communications. Maintain accurate activity and renewal information in the agency management system. Assist with special projects and agency initiatives as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, health insurance, brokerage, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of group health insurance products and terminology. Experience with medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefits preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously. Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel. New Jersey insurance license(s) preferred or required within an agreed-upon period. They should be comfortable dealing with employers, HR professionals, employees, and insurance carriers and be able to explain complicated insurance issues in clear, understandable terms.
