Freight Account Manager Location:
Sioux Falls, SD (On-site)
Company:
Olander Trucking Position Overview Olander Trucking is seeking a motivated Freight Account Manager to help grow our customer base and manage freight operations. This is a sales and operations driven role, combined with execution on the back end. You will be responsible for prospecting new shipping customers, securing freight, and coordinating trucks to move those loads. Success in this role comes from your ability to generate business, build relationships, and close deals. Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect and reach out to companies that ship freight to generate new business
  • Build and develop long-term relationships with shipping customers
  • Negotiate rates with both customers and carriers
  • Source trucks and carriers to move booked freight
  • Coordinate and manage loads from pickup through delivery
  • Communicate proactively with customers and drivers throughout each shipment
  • Grow and manage your own book of business
  • Track activity and maintain organized records Qualifications
  • Sales experience preferred (logistics or freight experience is a plus)
  • Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and driving conversations
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with a performance-driven mindset
  • Experience with load boards (DAT, Truckstop) is a plus
Compensation Base Salary:
~$30,000/year
Commission:
Uncapped, based on performance High earning potential for top performers What This Role Is (and Isn't)
  • This is a sales role — you will be expected to actively generate new business
  • This is not a passive dispatch position where loads are handed to you, although there is an existing book of business you will be able to pull from
  • Your income and success will be tied directly to your ability to produce Why Join Olander Trucking
