Job Description
Job Summary The Account Manager is the primary point of contact for all matters related to assigned accounts. This role involves developing strong relationships with customers, engaging with key business executives and stakeholders, and identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Order Processing:
Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders according to customer requirementsClient Relationships:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.Trusted Advisor:
Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsorsContract Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profitabilityBusiness Development:
Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing customers and areas for improvement to meet sales quotasSales Collaboration:
Work with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities within the territoryMarket Knowledge:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plant workload, stock levels, market trends, contract processes, and delivery schedules to provide accurate information to customersProduct Knowledge:
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the end-user applications of assigned metal products to optimize sales potentialInventory Coordination:
Coordinate with management to ensure optimal lead times and inventory levels, and identify aged/obsolete inventory with suggested dispositionsReporting:
Prepare monthly reports on account status and communicate the progress of initiatives to internal and external stakeholdersPolicy Adherence:
Ensure compliance with corporate mill claim policies and advise management of challenging customer requests, escalating issues as neededVendor Coordination:
Schedule appointments with vendors and operational staff to minimize production time for material inspections and ensure successful resolution of claimsQuality Control:
Provide data and insights to improve quality controlAdditional Duties:
Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field, or an Associate's degree with equivalent relevant work experienceExperience:
Previous experience in sales, management, account management, or a relevant fieldSkills:
