Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Transportation Account Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for managing and growing customer relationships while coordinating transportation and logistics solutions that meet client needs. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure shipments are handled efficiently and customers receive exceptional service. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned logistics customers and accounts. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, shipment updates, and issue resolution. Coordinate freight movements from pickup through delivery. Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, and internal operations teams. Monitor shipments and proactively address delays, service issues, or exceptions. Obtain and negotiate competitive transportation rates when appropriate. Track shipments, maintain accurate records, and update customers throughout the transportation process. Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and identify opportunities to increase account revenue. Prepare quotes and assist customers with transportation solutions based on their needs. Work closely with operations and sales teams to ensure customer expectations are met. Maintain a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service. Help identify process improvements that increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight, transportation, brokerage, account management, or a related field preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple accounts, shipments, and priorities simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or logistics, transportation management, or CRM software. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, carriers, and internal teams. Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Preferred Qualifications Experience with freight brokerage, 3PL, truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), or transportation operations. Existing knowledge of carrier networks and transportation markets. Experience negotiating freight rates. Experience managing and growing customer accounts.
