Based on experience and qualifications About the Position Research Marketing and Innovations is seeking an experienced, motivated Account Manager to maintain existing accounts and develop new business throughout the territory. We are an established manufacturers' representative serving the plumbing and mechanical industries. Our team works with contractors, wholesale distributors, engineers, and other industry professionals to provide quality products, technical support, and responsive customer service. The ideal candidate is personable, self-motivated, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to learn technical products. Candidates must be comfortable using measurements, sizing information, and basic calculations to help customers select appropriate products and solutions. Industry experience is helpful but not required; product and industry training will be provided. Responsibilities Maintain and grow relationships with contractors and wholesale distributors. Regularly visit existing customers and prospective accounts throughout the territory. Identify and pursue new sales opportunities and develop new accounts. Present and promote plumbing and mechanical products. Learn customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions. Assist with product selection, sizing, applications, measurements, and basic calculations. Review plans, specifications, and project information. Follow up on quotes, projects, customer questions, and sales opportunities. Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and training as needed. Coordinate with inside sales and support staff to provide responsive customer service. Track customer activity and opportunities using SAP and company systems. Attend manufacturer training, company meetings, trade events, and industry functions as needed. Qualifications Experience in sales, account management, business development, customer service, construction, distribution, or a related field. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability and willingness to learn technical products and solve customer problems. Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, sizing information, and basic calculations. Organized, dependable, responsive, and able to manage a territory independently. Comfortable using Microsoft Office, CRM, and related business systems. Ability to travel regularly throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland. Experience in plumbing, HVAC, hydronics, mechanical systems, construction, industrial products, or technical sales is helpful but not required.
