This position plays an important role in keeping our equipment assembled, maintained, clean, organized, and ready for sale, rental, or delivery . This role will also assist with local equipment deliveries and pickups as needed , making a CDL A strongly preferred . The ideal candidate has mechanical ability, enjoys working around construction equipment, takes pride in their work, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to keep the dealership operating efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
Equipment Set-Up & Preparation Assemble and set up new equipment, attachments, and accessories. Install buckets, forks, tires, tracks, attachments, and common dealer-installed accessories. Perform basic equipment inspections and operational checks. Check fluid levels, tire pressures, batteries, grease points, and other routine maintenance items. Prepare new and used equipment for customer delivery. Assist Service technicians with basic mechanical work when needed. Identify equipment concerns and communicate needed repairs to the Service Department. Ensure machines are properly fueled, cleaned, and ready before customer pickup or delivery. Preventive Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on dealership, rental, and customer equipment as assigned. Complete oil, filter, fluid, and other scheduled maintenance services. Grease and inspect equipment according to manufacturer recommendations. Perform basic battery, tire, track, and undercarriage inspections. Document completed maintenance and communicate additional repair needs. Help ensure rental and dealership equipment remains maintained and ready for use. Yard Operations Maintain an organized, professional, and safe equipment yard. Stage equipment for Sales, Rental, Service, and customer deliveries. Move equipment throughout the dealership property as needed. Load and unload equipment and attachments from trucks and trailers. Assist customers and drivers during equipment pickup and drop-off. Keep attachments organized and stored in designated areas. Maintain designated areas for new, used, rental, service, and sold equipment. Assist with snow removal, lawn care, sweeping, pressure washing, and general property maintenance. Keep the shop, wash bay, equipment staging areas, and dealership grounds clean and orderly. Equipment Delivery & Pickup Assist with local customer equipment deliveries and pickups as needed. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload compact construction equipment and attachments. Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections when operating company trucks. Maintain professional communication and customer service when delivering or picking up equipment. Coordinate with Sales, Rental, Service, and dealership management regarding delivery priorities. Help ensure equipment arrives to customers clean, complete, and ready to work. Follow all company, DOT, and applicable transportation safety requirements. A valid CDL is strongly preferred for this position. Candidates with equipment hauling experience are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants without a CDL may still be considered based on mechanical experience, equipment knowledge, and overall qualifications. Rental & Sales Support Prepare rental equipment for outgoing customers. Inspect returning rental equipment for damage, cleanliness, fuel, and maintenance needs. Clean and prepare rental units for their next rental. Stage sold equipment for customer delivery. Assist the Sales Department with moving, cleaning, and preparing equipment for demonstrations. Help ensure equipment displayed in the yard is clean, presentable, and properly positioned. Assist with equipment inventory and yard audits as needed. What We're Looking For Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. CDL A preferred. Equipment hauling, truck, or trailer experience is a plus. Experience with construction, agricultural, landscaping, automotive, diesel, or similar equipment is preferred. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, excavators, tractors, utility vehicles, mowers, and other equipment. Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools. Ability to work independently while also supporting the dealership team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year. Ability to perform physical work including lifting, climbing, bending, loading, and working around equipment. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. What Success Looks Like The right person will take ownership of their responsibilities without needing to be constantly directed.
Success means:
Equipment is set up correctly and ready when promised. Rental equipment is maintained and ready for the next customer. Sold equipment is clean and prepared before delivery. Customer deliveries and pickups are completed safely and professionally. Preventive maintenance is completed before it becomes a problem. The yard remains organized and professional. Equipment and attachments can be quickly located and moved. Sales, Rental, Parts, and Service receive the support they need.
