This position focuses on referral development, relationship management, community outreach, brand positioning, and census growth while ensuring compliance with federal and California healthcare regulations. The Marketing Director works closely with hospital discharge planners, case managers, physicians, accountable care organizations (ACOs), and community partners to promote the facility's services and maintain target census levels. Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Marketing & Census Development Develop and implement an annual marketing and census development plan. Maintain and grow referral relationships with hospitals, medical groups, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, hospice providers, and community organizations. Track referral patterns and analyze trends to identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with Admissions and IDT teams to ensure timely response to referrals. Meet or exceed established census targets and payer mix goals. Referral & Community Relations Conduct regular in-person visits to referral sources. Educate referral partners on facility services, specialty programs, and outcomes. Maintain visibility in the community through networking events, health fairs, and professional organizations. Represent the facility in community outreach programs and professional associations. Admissions Collaboration Work closely with the facility to: o Review incoming referrals o Facilitate smooth admissions processes o Ensure appropriate level-of-care screening Support case managers and discharge planners in coordinating transitions of care. Market Analysis & Reporting Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and service gaps. Provide weekly/monthly reports on: o Referral activity o Conversion rates o Census trends o Payer mix Identify new service lines or specialty programs to meet community demand. Brand Management & Communications Oversee marketing materials, brochures, and digital presence. Ensure all advertising complies with CMS and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations. Maintain accurate representation of services and clinical capabilities. Coordinate reputation management efforts, including online reviews. Regulatory Compliance Ensure marketing practices comply with: o Federal Anti-Kickback Statute o Stark Law o HIPAA regulations o CMS guidelines o California state laws Avoid offering inappropriate inducements for referrals. Maintain ethical and compliant marketing practices.
