Job Description

Overview This Operations Intern will work closely with the Operations Department through hands-on learning. This will include how to operate the facility and events through a variety of disciplines, like set-up and teardown of events, event management, housekeeping, scheduling, recruitment, budgeting, capital projects, and inventory. This role is expected to last from October 5, 2026, and will end on January 8, 2027 This role will pay an hourly rate of $14.00 This position will remain open until October 30, 2026. Responsibilities Assist in scheduling personnel and tasks for day-to-day operations as well as event set-up, event management, and event teardown Shadow Operations Supervisors gain an understanding of how to manage, direct, and motivate operations crew before, during, and after an event Shadow Department Heads and others upon request to gain understanding of tasks each performs. Informative training with buffer, rider sweepers / scrubbers, walk-behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, forklifts and other various equipment Learn about the Operations Budget and Capital Expenditure Budget, including how to submit a request for proposal, receive bids, and input invoices Assist with several mistakes c. projects that you will see to completion Learn how to supervise crew setting up for events using folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, staging and drapes Comprehend and communicate clear instructions for event setups Assist Operations team members through scheduling interviews by phone call through excellent customer service Help maintain equipment inventory numbers and assist in ordering supplies Perform other duties as assigned
Key Learnings :
Coordinate daily staff schedules and tasks for event setup, live management, and teardown. Observe leadership in action by shadowing supervisors to learn team motivation and management techniques. Analyze operational and capital budgets while assisting with vendor RFPs, bids, and invoicing. Track and maintain essential inventory levels to support seamless daily operations. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a university with preferred coursework in event management, sport management, facility management, or similar field Ability to work days, overnights, weekends and holidays as needed, as well as some laborious hours Handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines Must have demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while upholding a positive attitude Possess superior interpersonal and communication skills Proficient with computers in a Windows format and experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to work independently Capable of handling the physical demands of event setup and teardown Desire to learn
