Job Description

The Game Management FWS student workers play a vital role in the successful execution of all SXU Athletic home events. This position supports the athletic department by assisting with the setup, operation, and breakdown of home games and events. Ideal candidates are dependable, professional, and passionate about sports and event operations. Ideal Candidates will strive to make SXU events an enjoyable experience for the student athletes and fans. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies . Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:
Communication:
Students build communication skills by practicing clear, respectful, and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication in a workplace setting.

Students build critical thinking skills by applying judgment, solving problems, prioritizing tasks, maintaining accuracy, and using feedback to improve their work.

Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting.
Teamwork:
Students build teamwork skills by collaborating with supervisors, staff, and peers to support department goals, assist others, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Assist with pre-game setup (e.g. field/court preparation, signage, score tables, seating, equipment)
  • Operate game-day equipment (e.g. announcer, ball rolling, Chain Gang, scoreboard, shot clock, sound system, ticket takers, video streaming)
  • Serve as a liaison for officials, teams, and spectators during events
  • Support crowd control and maintain a safe environment
  • Help with post-game breakdown of facilities
  • Run errands or assist with tasks as directed by supervisors
  • Represent the athletics department with professionalism and courtesy
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
