The student worker for Equity, Belonging and Servingness (EBS) represents the office and helps foster an inclusive, supportive, and student-centered campus environment. The Student Worker supports daily office operations by welcoming students, connecting them with campus resources, assisting with programs and events, promoting engagement, and supporting initiatives for historically underserved and underrepresented student populations, including first-generation students, students of color, adult learners, multilingual students, parenting students, veterans, students with disabilities, LGBTQ students, low-income students, and others who may benefit from additional support.

Basic Responsibilities:

Welcome students, employees, and community members in a professional, friendly, and inclusive manner. Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the Office of Equity, Belonging and Servingness. Provide accurate information regarding campus resources, student support services, programs, and events. Answer general questions and refer students to appropriate campus departments and services. Assist students in navigating available campus resources that support their academic, personal, and professional development. Assist with planning and implementation of educational programs, workshops, cultural celebrations, heritage month events, and community engagement activities. Support initiatives coordinated by the Office of Equity, Belonging and Servingness and the Latinx Resource Center. Assist with event logistics, including room setup, registration, technology, photography, and clean-up. Represent the office during campus events, orientations, resource fairs, and outreach activities. Assist with creating promotional materials including flyers, newsletters, digital signage, and social media content. Work collaboratively with the Office of Marketing and Communications to ensure consistent branding and messaging. Capture photos and videos during approved events for promotional purposes. Promote office programs and student success initiatives through digital and print communications. Minimum Qualifications A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit. Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above. Be in good standing with Student Conduct. Ability to work 10-20 hours per week. Biluingual and Biliterate in English and Spanish. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment for students from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. Ability to work effectively with students from multicultural, multilingual, first-generation, and historically underserved communities while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
