The university is searching for highly energetic and spirited individuals to serve as the official mascot and mascot handlers for Fitchburg State University. This is your chance to be the face ? or the driving force behind ? our Falcons, uniting students, faculty, alumni, and fans and helping create an unforgettable campus experience. As a mascot handler, you will play a crucial behind-the-scenes role, serving as the mascot's eyes and ears, managing crowd interaction, assisting with logistics, and ensuring the performer stays safe and energized. This position is funded by the university. All undergraduate students are welcome to apply. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities for both roles.Key Responsibilities Brand Ambassador-in-Chief:
Serve as a living symbol of Fitchburg State's spirit, values, and community pride.Student Engagement Catalyst:
Energize campus events across all divisions from Welcome Week to Commencement.Community Connector:
Represent Fitchburg State University in civic parades, school visits, and regional partnerships.Recruitment and Alumni Engagement Tool:
Appear at admissions events, reunions, and other student recruiting events.Game-Day Performance:
Attend football, basketball, and other designated athletic events where you'll connect with fans, lead cheers, and pump up the crowd to support our teams.Marketing & Social Media:
Collaborate with the Athletics and Marketing departments to create engaging content for the university's official social media channels. You'll represent the university in photo and video shoots to promote events and athletic programs. Embody theCharacter:
Embody the persona of Freddy the Falcon at all times while in costume, maintaining a positive and spirited demeanor.Requirements:
Enrolled Fitchburg State student in good academic standing. Physically capable of performing in costume (athletic background preferred, not required). Willing to maintain confidentiality about their role.Skills & Personality:
You should be highly enthusiastic, creative, and reliable. Excellent non-verbal communication skills are a must, as you'll be expressing yourself solely through body language.Additional Information:
