What You'll Do:
As the Development Coordinator, you will coordinate all areas of fundraising and marketing. Your time will be split between strategic planning in the office and active engagement in the community.
Fundraising & Donor Stewardship:
Lead comprehensive fundraising campaigns, manage a portfolio of individual donors, and identify new prospective supporters. You'll handle everything from direct mail initiatives to writing heartfelt thank-you letters.
Events & Outreach:
Coordinate special events and third-party fundraisers. You will be a regular presence at local chamber events, health fairs, and community gatherings (occasional evenings and weekends required).
Marketing & Communications:
Maintain our brand identity across all platforms. This includes managing our website and social media, writing press releases, and designing promotional publications.
Grant Writing:
Actively seek out and apply for grant opportunities to support our programs.
Strategic Growth:
Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for development and marketing.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
3+ years of successful experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related field.
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal skills. You should be as comfortable speaking to a large group as you are in a one-on-one donor meeting.
Self-Starters:
We need a disciplined individual who can set goals and achieve them with minimal supervision.
Compassion:
A genuine interest in and empathy for the terminally ill, with comfort regarding issues of death and dying.
Tech-Savvy:
Ability to utilize donor management software, social media tools, and standard office technology.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a small, tight-knit team environment. Proven track record in strategic campaign planning and donor segmentation. Creative eye for designing promotional materials and maintaining brand standards.
