About Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters (DOCR) Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters is an award-winning specialty coffee company with four cafes throughout Southeast Michigan. Since 2009, we've been committed to sourcing exceptional coffees, fostering meaningful relationships throughout the coffee supply chain, and creating welcoming spaces centered around hospitality, education, and community. Position Summary The Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of marketing initiatives across Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters while helping maintain a consistent brand experience across digital, retail, and community channels. Working under the direction of the Creative Marketing Manager, this role assists with content creation, social media management, email marketing, campaign execution, and day-to-day marketing operations. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career marketing professional looking to gain experience across multiple areas of marketing, branding, and creative production within a growing specialty coffee company. Coffee knowledge is preferred but not required. DOCR has a thoughtfully developed in-house Education Department, and the Marketing Coordinator will receive ongoing coffee education to better understand our products, coffee, producers, and brand. Key Responsibilities Marketing & Campaign Support Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns supporting: Coffee releases Specialty drink launches Menu updates and additions Seasonal bakery releases and promotions DOCR's Education Department programming for public classes and DOCR Academy Wholesale initiatives Community events Retail promotions Help coordinate campaign timelines and ensure marketing assets are delivered on schedule. — Social Media Support the day-to-day management of DOCR's social media presence.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with the planning and management of our social media accounts Scheduling and posting content Assisting with content planning Community engagement Responding to comments and messages when appropriate Tracking performance metrics Helping maintain the content calendar and pivoting as needed Assist in identifying trends, content opportunities, and engagement strategies — Email & SMS Marketing Assist in creating and executing customer communications through email and SMS.
Including:
Building email campaigns through MailChimp, Eventbrite, Square, and other platforms Updating and maintaining campaign assets and templates Testing and scheduling emails Maintaining subscriber lists Supporting promotional campaigns — Copywriting & Marketing Communications Assist in developing written marketing communications that reflect DOCR's brand voice and storytelling approach.
Responsibilities include:
Drafting social media captions for review and approval Drafting email marketing copy using established campaign direction Assisting with promotional messaging across digital marketing channels Supporting blog content, website updates, and other written marketing materials Collaborating with the Creative Marketing Manager to refine messaging and maintain brand consistency — Content Creation Assist with creating marketing collateral including: I-Phone photography, short-form video, and reels Coordinate with the Creative Marketing Manager on photography and video needs for upcoming campaigns Behind-the-scenes content Asset organization Usage of CapCut for reel-editing needs — Administrative Marketing Support Help keep the Creative Department organized by: Maintaining marketing calendars Organizing digital assets Coordinating project requests Tracking deadlines Preparing files for production Managing marketing inventory and promotional materials Assisting with vendor communication — Event & Community Marketing Support local marketing initiatives by: Assisting with event promotion through all channels Coordinating ticket giveaways with the Creative Marketing Manager and vendor partners Supporting community partnerships Helping execute in-store marketing Capturing event content and video as needed
Qualifications Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 0-2 years of professional marketing experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation Basic photography or video experience is a plus Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva (Affinity), and CapCut is preferred Experience with Shopify, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Square, Eventbrite, or similar marketing platforms is a plus What Success Looks Like Within the first year, this role will: Increase the Creative Department's capacity to execute marketing campaigns across all channels Improve turnaround times for marketing initiatives Strengthen consistency across social media, email marketing, and customer communications Help maintain organized marketing systems and project timelines Support stronger communication between the Creative Department and internal teams Contribute thoughtful ideas while maintaining the quality and consistency of the DOCR brand Allow the Creative Marketing Manager to focus on strategy, creative direction, branding, design, photography, and department leadership — Benefits & Compensation Salary $42,000-48,000 annually Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
