Job Description

Job Overview The Green Door is looking for a creative, outgoing, organized, and motivated Marketing & Operations Coordinator to help grow our brand throughout Southwest Michigan. This is not your typical desk job. We are looking for someone who understands social media, enjoys creating engaging content, is comfortable getting out into the community, and can turn ideas into marketing that gets people's attention. Marketing will be the primary focus of this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multiple social media platforms and experience creating content that builds engagement and brand awareness. Cannabis industry marketing experience is highly preferred. In addition to marketing, this position will assist with our head shop operations, vendor coordination, special projects, and administrative support for our COO and CFO. The position may be structured as either part-time or full-time depending on the candidate and the needs of the business. Duties Marketing & Social Media Responsibilities Manage and help grow The Green Door's presence across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and other relevant platforms Head Shop & Retail Support Assist with ordering merchandise and products for our head shop operations Work with vendors to identify new products and opportunities Help monitor inventory, product selection, and merchandising Assist in maintaining a consistent and appealing head shop selection across all Green Door locations Communicate with store management regarding inventory needs and product performance Vendor, Operations & Executive Support Communicate with cannabis brands and other vendors Coordinate and schedule vendor days at our retail locations Assist with special events and promotional activities Provide project and administrative support to the COO and CFO as needed Assist with certain HR-related and administrative duties Help coordinate projects involving multiple locations Perform additional projects and responsibilities as business needs arise Create engaging social media content, including photos, videos, Reels, short-form video, graphics, captions, and promotional content Develop new ideas to increase engagement, brand awareness, and customer traffic Visit our locations regularly to capture fresh content and identify marketing opportunities Create signage, flyers, promotional materials, digital graphics, and other marketing pieces Help plan and execute grassroots marketing campaigns Identify opportunities to increase The Green Door's presence within the communities we serve Assist with store promotions, events, grand openings, customer appreciation events, and other marketing initiatives Maintain a consistent brand image and voice across locations and platforms Monitor social media trends and identify creative ways to incorporate relevant trends into our marketing Work with management to develop new campaigns and promotional ideas Help ensure marketing and social media content follows applicable cannabis advertising regulations and company standards Skills Social media experience is a must. The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't need to be told exactly what to post every day. We want someone who brings ideas to the table, understands what catches people's attention, and is excited about finding creative ways to grow a brand.
Candidates should have:
Strong experience using and creating content for multiple social media platforms Excellent understanding of social media trends and short-form video Experience creating engaging photos, videos, graphics, and written content Strong written and verbal communication skills Creativity and the ability to generate new marketing ideas Excellent organization and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Ability to work independently while also collaborating with management and store teams Professional communication skills when working with vendors and outside organizations Willingness to be hands-on and work both in the office and at retail locations Reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly between Bangor, Kalamazoo, South Haven, and Watervliet Ability to meet all applicable requirements for working within Michigan's cannabis industry Preferred Qualifications Previous cannabis industry experience Previous cannabis marketing or social media experience Experience with graphic design or programs such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms Photography and video editing experience Retail marketing experience Experience coordinating events or vendor relationships Experience with grassroots or community-based marketing Familiarity with cannabis advertising and social media restrictions Show Us What You Can Do For this position, experience matters—but creativity matters too . Schedule & Travel This position may be part-time or full-time , depending on the candidate and business needs. The role supports multiple Green Door locations throughout Southwest Michigan and will require regular travel between:
Bangor, Kalamazoo, South Haven and Watervliet Pay:
$32,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
