Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health Promotion & Nutrition Coordinator to lead health initiatives and programming for older adults focused on nutrition, wellness, and overall well-being. In this meaningful role, you will develop, implement, and evaluate programs that promote healthy lifestyles within diverse communities, including underserved populations. Your expertise in public health, nutrition, and community engagement will drive impactful outreach efforts that empower individuals to make informed health choices. Responsibilities Coordinate all health promotions programs with fidelity, ensuring all requirements are met, and reporting all required information on a monthly and quarterly basis to the Area Agency on Aging. Maintain diligent records of timesheets, receipts, budgets, program dates, instructor certifications, program evaluations, pre/post surveys, and licenses. Oversee budget development and monitoring for health promotions programs. Plan, schedule, and oversee congregate nutrition services and programs for older adults at the center. Oversee and ensure the health and regulation standards for agency's nutrition program. Submit required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Track and report client participation thoroughly, accurately and in a timely fashion to meet contractual and agency expectations, guidelines and policies. Collect and process consumer contributions received through health promotions program and congregate nutrition program in accordance with agency procedures. Plan and coordinate two Health Fairs per year in conjunction with the Support Services department. Work with and at times work as a preceptor to students and interns. Identify opportunities for staff to collaborate on health promotion programs and activities. Develop partnerships with other agencies to bring additional health promotion resources to the centers. Work as a team to manage program calendars, room assignments, and My Senior Center database/participant-facing kiosk. Participate on committees as assigned by the Senior Center Director of Programs. Register all client data and service reimbursement information for the month within the Aging Resources Management Systems (ARMS) by monthly deadline. Coordinate delivery of the congregate meal program to meet health, contractual and agency standards. Support and oversee nutrition coordinators, as well as active volunteers to assist with programming, services and outreach for the congregate meal program. Fill in for Senior Center Program Coordinators, and Nutrition Assistants when necessary. Entire department is cross trained to backfill one another. Assist Senior Center Director of Programs in conducting regular client satisfaction surveys and needs assessments, as appropriate. Develop flyers, calendars, press releases, website information, and other avenues for disseminating program information from the centers as directed by the Senior Center Director of Programs. Provide information, referrals and case assistance as it relates to health promotions and congregate nutrition. Support coordination and facilitation of Special Events in cooperation with Programs Department. Supervises nutrition assistants and occasional students and or interns. Other duties as necessary. Qualifications The Health Promotion and Nutrition Coordinator must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and experience programming for older adults. Must have strong writing skills. Some background in publicity/marketing is preferred. Must demonstrate maturity, good judgment, flexibility, and organizational ability. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work effectively with older adults, staff, and other individuals assisting older adults. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license, insurance, and good driving record. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
