Job Description
Job Overview The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the Fremont Family YMCA's marketing and communications plan. Working from priorities, calendars, checklists, and direction established by the Senior Director of Member Experience, this position turns approved plans into completed work across digital, print, facility, and community channels. This is a hands-on production and coordination role for someone who enjoys executing day-to-day marketing materials, managing details, meeting deadlines, and ensuring communication is accurate and complete. - Maintain the YMCA website by updating program/event details and other assigned content
- Schedule, publish, and monitor social media content
- Send member, staff, and community emails
- Prepare and send member text messages
- Post timely communications for planned closures, schedule changes, weather events, and facility updates
- Update internal marketing channels Print and Facility Marketing
- Coordinate the production and placement of flyers, posters, banners, and other printed materials Content and Brand Support
- Assist with basic content creation, including taking photos and short videos, and gather member or program stories
- Make edits to existing templates and graphics in Canva or similar software tools
- Follow YMCA brand standards and approved campaign direction across all channels
- Proofread material before it is published, sent, displayed, or ordered. Must maintain an excellent attention to detail External Communications and Partnerships
- Send approved information and promotional materials to radio stations, schools, corporate partners, and other external contacts.
- Represent the YMCA professionally and build positive working relationships with community contacts. Events and Department Support
- Support YMCA events through promotion, signage, content capture, setup, day-of assistance, and follow-up communications as assigned
- Collect program information from departments and organize it for use across the website, social media, email, text, print, and facility channels
- Provide clear communication on progress, approvals needed, and potential delays Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor in support of YMCA operations and member experience. Execution Standards Success in this role requires consistent follow-through and careful quality control. The Marketing Coordinator is expected to:
- Work independently from an established playbook and calendar
- Manage multiple deadlines while keeping a close eye on details
- Communicate promptly when a deadline, error, or missing item could affect public-facing information Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, administrative coordination, or a related field preferred; relevant education, internships, or demonstrated work samples may be considered.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to organize, prioritize, and complete recurring and deadline-driven work.
- Strong written communication, proofreading, and basic copy-editing skills.
- Experience updating websites and using social media platforms, email marketing tools, and text communication systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of Canva is preferred.
- Ability to make basic edits to existing graphics and templates; professional graphic design experience is not required.
- Comfort taking photos and short videos and assisting with content at programs and events.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and vendor coordination skills.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events or time-sensitive communications as needed.
