In this role, you will work closely with customers, authors, vendors, and colleagues across departments to enhance brand visibility, expand market reach, and drive sales growth. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. You will play a key role in supporting departmental activities and achieving business objectives in a fast-paced, friendly, and challenging environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
shall include but not limited to:
  • Accounts in charge: Barnes & Noble, B&N College Stores, Follett College Stores, o
Barnes and Noble Bookstore:
Submit new titles to central office for consideration.
  • Book reviews and book awards; Send out books for review by calendar. Keep close contact with reviewers.
  • Amazon promotions: amazon ad, A+page, amazon data analysis o For new books that Amazon cannot print on demand, submit inventory requests to ensure sufficient stock o Send stock request for titles not available on Amazon
  • Coordinate author activities and establish author relationships.
  • Promote the textbook to bookstores and professors to encourage its adoption.
  • Promote electronic content to librarians—using mass email campaigns and electronic promotions to showcase collections and new products
  • Establish connections with academic societies—building partnerships, increasing product awareness, and utilizing advertising platforms.
  • Attend conferences:
JMM, APS, MRS
(as needed);
  • Visit authors and editors to identify potential clients for the sales team and book reviewers.
  • Send direct emails to all disciplines and compile a mailing list for promotional purposes.
REQUIREMENT
1-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, or a related professional environment. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Self-motivated, proactive, and creative thinker with a positive, results-oriented attitude. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel as needed for conferences, exhibitions, customer visits, and other business activities. Adaptable and eager to learn, with the ability to take on new responsibilities and challenges in a dynamic work environment.
