Job Description

Studio Assistant Ivy Mane Studio |
Hoboken, NJ Part-Time Pay:
$15-$18/hour About the Role Ivy Mane Studio is a creative workshop studio in Hoboken offering hands-on classes, Craft Club, private parties, corporate events, and more. We're looking for a reliable, outgoing, and hands-on Studio Assistant to help with the day-to-day operations of the studio and support our workshops and events. This role will start with learning the behind-the-scenes of Ivy Mane - prepping materials, setting up workshops, assisting instructors, keeping the studio organized, and helping everything run smoothly. Our goal is for the right person to learn our workshops and eventually grow into a Lead Instructor role, independently leading classes, private parties, and events. What You'll Do Your shifts may include: Prepping materials and supplies for upcoming workshops and events Setting up tables and workstations before classes Assisting instructors during workshops and private events Greeting guests and helping create a welcoming studio experience Cleaning and resetting the studio between events Washing tools and organizing supplies Restocking materials and keeping an eye on inventory Preparing projects and materials ahead of upcoming classes Helping with pickups and other day-to-day studio needs Learning each of our workshop processes and techniques Eventually helping demonstrate projects and guide guests through workshops This is a hands-on role, so you should be comfortable jumping in wherever you're needed. Some shifts may be busy events with a full studio, while others may be quieter prep and organization days. Growing Into a Lead Instructor We're specifically looking for someone who is interested in growing with Ivy Mane. As you become comfortable with our projects and studio processes, we'll begin training you to take on more responsibility during workshops. The goal is for you to eventually be able to lead Ivy Mane classes and events independently. As a Lead Instructor, you'll be responsible for welcoming the group, explaining and demonstrating the project, helping guests throughout the workshop, keeping the event on schedule, and making sure everyone has a great experience. You don't need teaching experience - we can teach you the crafts and how we run our workshops. We're looking for someone who is comfortable with people, willing to learn, and can eventually feel confident leading a room. Who We're Looking For You might be a great fit if you: Are friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking to new people Are dependable and show up on time Are organized and pay attention to the little details Enjoy working with your hands and learning new crafts Don't mind cleaning, organizing, and doing behind-the-scenes work Can take direction but also notice what needs to be done without always being asked Stay calm and helpful when things get busy Would eventually feel comfortable speaking in front of and leading a group Are interested in growing into a larger role with Ivy Mane You absolutely do not need to consider yourself an artist or have professional crafting experience. We'll teach you how to make and instruct each project! Having a positive attitude is #1!! Experience in hospitality, retail, events, teaching, camps, childcare, or customer service is a plus. Schedule This is a part-time, in-person position at our Hoboken studio. Our busiest times are evenings and weekends, so we're looking for someone with availability during some combination of: Weekday evenings: approximately 5-9
PM Weekends:
approximately 10 AM-3 PM or 3-8 PM Hours may vary week to week based on our workshop and private event schedule. Weekend availability is important for this role. What We're Looking for Long-Term We're a small business, which means this role has the opportunity to become much more than simply assisting during classes. For the right person, we'd love for this position to grow from Studio Assistant → Instructor → Lead Instructor, with additional responsibility and opportunities as Ivy Mane continues to grow. To Apply Please send us your resume along with a short note telling us a little about yourself, your availability, and why you're interested in working at Ivy Mane. If you have any experience working with customers, leading groups, teaching, crafting, working with kids or adults, or helping with events, we'd love to hear about it!
Pay:
