Job Description
Event Specialist Assistant - Mountainville Manor Position Summary Mountainville Manor is seeking an Event Specialist Assistant to assist in coordinating weddings and private events. Candidates must be energetic, have stamina to work long days, and be self-motivated while being able to take direction, follow instructions and adapt to last minute changes. The ideal candidate will have a background and passion for providing the highest quality service to clients and guests as well as being a team player willing to enthusiastically jump in to assist in any capacity in the heat of the moment. Property Mountainville Manor is a picturesque 19th century Victorian manor tucked away in the rolling hills of the lower Hudson valley, 60 minutes north of Manhattan. We operate as a boutique wedding and private events venue. Our catering menus are created with a focus on using grass-fed, wild caught, local Hudson Valley farm to table and organic ingredients. We are a no seed oil kitchen. Our team is lead by James Beard award winning chef Craig C. Shelton. Chef Shelton has owned and/or operated some of the worlds most highly regarded restaurants, resorts, and catering facilities. Responsibilities
- Set-up for weddings and banquets, including decorations, food display stations, linens and table settings.
- Set-up and breakdown of all items supplied by wedding couple / client, ensuring that all items are accounting for and returned at the end of the event.
- Keep all storage locations and areas for all banquet items properly organized, clean, and inventoried.
- Assist in maintaining the venue, keeping it clean and ensuring it is "tour ready" at all times - including tables, linens, decorations, bathrooms and floors.
- Assist wherever necessary during execution of weddings and events - which may include: o Serving passed canapés, plated appetizers, and plated dinners to guests. o Serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. o Clearing plates, glassware, and other tabletop items. o Assist with food/display preparation and replenishment. o Clearing plates, glassware, and other tabletop items.
- Assist with ensuring the event flows according to the event timeline.
- Assist with post-event breakdown, clean up, inventory, and preparation for next event.
- Create a genuine, positive experience for all customers and guests through greeting, interaction, and thanking.
- Other duties and responsibilities as necessary and as assigned.
