Job Description

J3 Events produces 5k and Half Marathon Running Events at locations across the U.S. We are looking for Race Directors to assist in traveling to and managing our 5k events in Pennsylvania and the Northeast U.S. Race Director Role A J3 Events Race Director is responsible for producing J3 Events Races and 3rd party event management events when needed. This entails preparing for and delivering all aspects of producing live events including but not limited to; reviewing event details, purchasing water/snacks, packing for the event and handling race day activities such as registration, packet pickup, setup, teardown, timing, scoring, results, DJ, volunteers / crew coordination, and excellent customer service. Communicate directly to provide necessary information to other crew & volunteers. Primary Responsibilities Primary responsibility is communicating directly with participants and venue and being the primary point of contact for staff, participants, volunteers, and vendors on race day. Acts as the primary point of contact on race day and is able to operate or oversee course setup, registration, timing, announcing, volunteer coordination, and customer service. •Additional tasks include providing timing for 3rd party races on weekends when we are not hosting an event. Expectation Excellent ability to communicate with participants, venue owners, and events staff Quick response time via email, phone and text (<24hrs M-F) Dynamic ability to cover all positions on race day: Registration/Volunteer Coordination Announcing Course setup Race timing Proficient with general computer skills Weekend availability and willingness to travel (Friday through Sunday) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Physical mobility required for equipment setup/teardown and course setup More information about the events we produce can be found at www.
