Job Description

Marketing and Events Lead 111 East Haley Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 Hybrid work From $21 an hour - Full-time From $21 an hour - Full-time About CrossHatch CrossHatch is a boutique winery in Santa Barbara specializing exclusively in cofermented blends — a winemaking approach that trades convention for creativity. We recently relocated to a larger space that brings our tasting room, production, and a commercial kitchen under one roof, and we're just getting started building the experience that goes with it. Our brand lives at the intersection of Fun & Approachable and Boutique & Artisan — we want people to feel like insiders the moment they walk in. The Role We're looking for a Marketing & Events Lead to help CrossHatch become a destination, not just a tasting room.
This is a hybrid role:
part marketer, part events producer, part host. You'll split your time between working the floor — pouring, hosting, building relationships with guests — and building the systems that bring people in the door in the first place: our programming calendar, our social presence, and our reputation as a space worth booking. This role is right for someone who's equally comfortable pitching a private event to a corporate client, writing an Instagram caption, and running a Friday night tasting flight — and who sees all three as the same job: making people fall in love with CrossHatch. What You'll Do Tasting Room Host guests and lead tastings, bringing our cofermentation story to life for newcomers and regulars alike Represent the CrossHatch brand voice in every guest interaction — warm, knowledgeable, unpretentious Support day-to-day tasting room operations alongside the rest of the small team Programming & Events Design and run CrossHatch's own programming calendar — tastings, release parties, chef pop-ups leveraging our commercial kitchen, community nights Sell the building as a private event space: develop packages, pricing, and pitch materials for weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties Own execution end-to-end for both owned programming and rented-out events — logistics, vendor coordination, day-of run of show Marketing Own CrossHatch's social media presence and content calendar, keeping it consistent with our brand identity Drive awareness and visibility through local partnerships, tourism/discovery channels, and community relationships Build marketing materials and outreach campaigns to support event bookings and tasting room visits What We're Looking For Experience in hospitality, events, or marketing — ideally some mix of all three A natural host: someone who enjoys people and can hold a room Sales instincts — comfortable pitching, following up, and closing on event bookings Strong writing and visual sense for social/marketing content Highly organized and self-directed; we're a small team and you'll own real ground here Excited by wine, food, and the idea of building something from the ground up What We Offer A founding-team role with real ownership over programming and marketing at a growing, distinctive brand A collaborative, creative environment where new ideas are genuinely welcomed Competitive pay, commensurate with experience Join us as a Marketing and Events Lead to create vibrant experiences that resonate with audiences! Your innovative ideas combined with meticulous planning will drive our organization's growth while delivering memorable moments for all involved.
