Job Description

The Art Theatre Long Beach, a nonprofit organization and the last independent movie theatre in Long Beach, is seeking a creative, organized Marketing Coordinator to lead and grow our digital marketing and in-person audience engagement efforts. You will be part of a team tasked to grow community engagement and ticket sales through compelling and coordinated social media, email, website, and live event strategies. The ideal candidate is an inspired creator who is passionate about film, arts and culture, social media, and producing ongoing, engaging content which connects with and grows a wide, diverse audience. Key Responsibilities Social Media Marketing Develop and execute an ongoing social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok. Create, coordinate, and publish content with an emphasis on short-form video (Reels). Assist in the planning and implementation of promotional campaigns for films, special events, and fundraisers. Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity for the Art Theatre. Content Creation Capture, edit, and publish original photo and video content in a timely manner from movies, special events, and filmmaker Q&As. Create and organize live and onstage pre-show content for certain events. Curate user-generated content from guests, members, partners, and community organizations. Community Engagement Help to create and nurture ongoing community partnerships with local businesses and groups for special events and screenings. Monitor and respond to direct messages and emails. Engage with comments on social media posts. Repost and interact with tagged Instagram Stories. Foster relationships with local businesses, other nonprofit organizations, filmmakers, sponsors, and arts partners. In-person attendance at occasional special events at the theatre as directed. Email Marketing With the Programming Manager, design, write, and distribute one branded email newsletter each week. Create promotional emails for other theatre events as directed. Website Management Perform routine website updates as needed, ensuring content is accurate, up to date, and engaging for visitors. Reporting & Analytics In-person attendance at the bi-weekly theatre Operations meeting to plan, discuss, and report strategies and results. Present recommendations on most effective forms of marketing - including what we should be doing more or less Preferred Qualifications High school diploma, plus a minimum of two years of professional marketing and/or social media experience, or equivalent college-level experience. Creative, high-level writing and storytelling abilities. Strong organizational and project management skills. Detail-oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and resourceful. Passion for film, arts, and community engagement. Strong photography and videography skills, including editing software. Success Measures Success in this role will be evaluated by: Increased social media engagement and follower growth. Growth in ticket sales for feature films and special events. Improved website traffic and engagement. Increased community relationships and brand visibility. Compelling, high-quality storytelling that reflects the goals and mission of the Art Theatre Long Beach. Salary, Hours, and Compensation $26 per hour, approximately 25 hours per week, with the possibility of full-time employment and competitive compensation after six months. Local to the Long Beach area is preferred for logistical and community engagement reasons. Paid sick leave per California regulations. Some work hours may be home-based, at the discretion of the General Manager.
