$22-26 / Hour About the Organization MLV NorCal is part of Major League Volleyball (MLV), a unified professional women's volleyball league launching in 2027 in the Bay Area and Sacramento. As a women-founded and women-led organization, MLV NorCal is committed to building a premier team that excels on the court, leads in the community, and creates a lasting impact for athletes and fans. Position Overview This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the launch of a new professional volleyball team in Northern California. Interns will contribute across key areas including marketing, operations, events, and revenue, working closely with internal teams and external partners. This is an active, immersive role ideal for individuals eager to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced sports environment. What You'll Do Business Operations & Revenue Support Assist with ticket sales, group sales, and service initiatives Support premium/hospitality experiences and client engagement Contribute to partnership ideation, activation, and fulfillment Marketing, Content, Event Presentation & Commerce Support marketing campaigns, social media, and digital content execution Help bring the brand voice and story to life across channels Assist with PR/comms efforts including media materials and outreach Assist in merchandise planning, production coordination, and sales execution Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of events including grassroots activations, community events, exhibition matches, festivals, game days and more Assist in shaping the look, feel, and functionality of the team's home venue (branding, signage, fan experience elements) Support planning and execution of in-game and pregame entertainment and activations Support logistics planning, run-of-show development, and operational execution Assist in setup and breakdown of event infrastructure Coordinate with vendors on orders, timelines, and onsite execution Support security logistics for teams, talent, VIPs, and guests Engaged in game presentation functions including DJ, emcee, Mascot, street team and more Operations & Administration Prepare meeting materials, take notes, and track action items Maintain organized documentation, contact lists, and databases Assist with operations, inventory coordination, and distribution logistics Support staff and volunteer coordination for events and activations Team Contribution Collaborate across departments in a fast-paced, startup environment Take on additional projects as needed, no two days will look the same Contribute ideas and bring energy to a growing organization What We're Looking For A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, build-from-scratch environment Passionate about sports, live events, and creating memorable fan experiences Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities A strong communicator who works well on a team and with external partners Willing to roll up your sleeves, no task is too big or too small Qualifications Pursuing or completed degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field Prior experience in sports, events, or related industries preferred (student-athlete experience a plus) Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation Physically navigate stairs and catwalks event facilities during work hours and events with or without accommodation Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice) May be required to travel to other team / venue locations May be required to attend conference, events, and training sessions within Northern California or in- or out-of-state locations Why MLV NorCal?
