Job Description

The Health Promotion Coordinator contributes to the overall health and wellbeing of?

SLCC?students by providing evidence-based health promotion activities. Another key element of the role is to promote the services of the campus health & wellness center, the Center for Health & Counseling which offers medical, mental health, and massage services to students at an affordable rate. Facilitate weekly programming to SLCC's diverse student population among several campuses. Use health education knowledge and experiences to develop, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs addressing a variety of issues including, but not limited to: physical activity , sexual health, nutrition, stress management and mental health. Provide classroom presentations on a variety of health topics (as listed above). Assist the Center for Health & Counseling's program manager with event planning, advertising, implementation, and evaluation. Work with program manager and other health promotion staff to design, implement and distribute media campaigns and social media marketing materials for health education programs and activities. Promotion of SLCC's Student Rec Center as assigned by the program manager. Facilitate harm reduction programs using platforms such as https://www.alcohol101.plus/ to engage and educate students on relevant health material. Connect students to campus and community partners. Other duties as assigned.
Education Minimum:
Associate degree , preferably in a health-related field.
Work Experience:
One (1) year of work experience in health promotion, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, community engagement, or closely related field (intern, practicum or paid). Bachelor's degree in health promotion and education, public health, or closely related health field preferred.? Graphic design experience preferred .? Experience with college students preferred .
